Wolfgang Weisselberg, shooting for joy

Wolfgang Weisselberg > Frontal shot, using only the available street light (13 seconds at ISO 100, f/8).
Wolfgang Weisselberg > The portal of St. Heribert coming from the Deutzer Brücke.
Wolfgang Weisselberg > The no-more working furnace from yet another angle. Since it's drizzling, you may see a few drops reflecting the flash light.
Wolfgang Weisselberg > The no-more working furnace from another angle, lightened up a bit with flash and a lot of ambient light. (I need correction filters for my flash ...)
Wolfgang Weisselberg > The no-more working furnace. Long exposure (and a bit of flash) makes these ghostly see-through people.
Wolfgang Weisselberg > Here you can actually see the furnace still smokes.
Again, the image is pushed a lot and denoising can't do magic.
Wolfgang Weisselberg > Looks almost like daylight, doesn't it? Well, that's what happens with 6 seconds at f/4 and (after pushing) ISO 16.000 effective (the 20D's ISO 3200 is effectively ISO 4000, according to dpreview.com).

The background seems washed out or over-denoised by NoiseNinja instead of having a nice bokeh, but we're driving the camera way beyond specs anyway ...
Wolfgang Weisselberg > Due to mistiming between adding of materials and bellows actions, the furnace unfortunately stopped burning and only continued smoldering, which you cannot really see here.

Shot with available light --- at the equivalent of moonlight. The image was pushed hard to make things visible.
Wolfgang Weisselberg > Burning bloomery furnace.

You can see glowing bits right next to the furnace on the floor.

Multi-second exposures, so please excuse moving people.
