Mink, the original lazy cat : Mink is a former in-door cat turned stray (the curse of an open window), who adopted us over half a year (sitting on our arms while we froze our behinds off in the cold) before coming into our domicile. After 3 nights spent indoors and days outside, she announced clearly she had no intention of ever leaving a dwelling again, though she sometimes checks if the staircase has not run off completely.

She's about 5 years old.

In the morning, usually shortly before feeding time, she gets people up by the expedient of throwing things down from the table, swiping them down with her paw on purpose (opposed to *stretch* "I need space for stretching" *stretch* and things fall down).

Oskar, the gentlecat :
Oskar formerly lived with an old woman, who, due to her age, would
sometimes forget him on the balcony for days. He was rescued, and lived
with a loan-family, not in the shelter.

He's a very gentle cat, about 3 years old now. He purrs silently (you
can feel his body vibrate) and can be quite talkative at times ---
though Mori is
much more of a talker. During the feeding times he always
announces used to announce he wasn't fed for three
weeks, tries to steal a huge mouthfull from Mink and cleans out
his bowl and anything Mink left over. Nowadays, he is completely
relaxed about food and would let Mori eat all his food, if we wouldn't
separate Mori at feeding time.

Luckily, he is holding his weight, even if we sometimes have to give him an
extra bit of food.

Mori, the new cat : Mori is our newest "cat"egorical addition. She followed a dog and canary owner home , but letting the birds fly while the cat is free would be expensive cat food --- and closing doors would cause the dog to redecorate said doors. Rather than having her face an animal home (no tattoo, no microchip, no identification of the former owner), she's now with us.
Since she has a very silky fur, the silk worm (Bombyx mori) was the name giver.

Oskar and Mori : Our two tabby cats do a lot of cuddling and jousting.

Usually, Mori goes to Oskar and starts force-cuddling him. Oskar does show his dislike once Mori gets too rough for his taste and some jousting begins ...

Cider, the investigator : Cider is one of my brother's cats. Inquisitive, but shy of unknown persons. Born 2005-10-01, thus quite young still.

Kimi, the shy racedriver : Kimi is a single indoor tomcat, named for Kimi Räikkönen, a Finish race driver that reputedly loves sleeping so much he had to be woken up for his qualifications and races --- certainly a cat-like behaviour.
Kimi himself is rather shy around strangers, as you may see in the shots below, but he's also quite bold, letting himself be seen and even almost touched, considering this was just the second visit.

Note that Kimi's left eye has been somewhat damaged since his youth: it's somewhat opaque and reflects lights on photographs much stronger than in reality. Hence I have brushed up the reflections there. I understand that he's not blind on that eye, but surely has diminished vision there. He seems not to mind at all (after all, cats have an acute sense of smell (dogs surpass them, though), very accurate hearing and their delicate whiskers, too).

The Black Cat : This cat amused herself one night (near midnight) near my workplace. I had my camera with me ... and decided I'd try for a few shots.

It was dark (LV 2), and the shots show it. (Try handholding 320mm at 1/8s, even with IS, and yes, that was wide open, max ISO, and later pushed in RAW.)
